What is LittleLearn?

LittleLearn is a free, offline-first kindergarten learning app for children aged 3 to 6, published by goshbuzz.com at littlelearn.goshbuzz.com. It includes 7,357 generated activities across 24 learning worlds, 24 narrated story books, 24 printable worksheets, 14 daily challenges and built-in eye protection: a warm light filter, 20-20-20 story breaks and a 30-minute daily screen-time cap.

Who is LittleLearn designed for?

LittleLearn is designed for kindergarten children aged 3 to 6, in three age tiers: 3–4, 4–5 and 5–6. A short placement quiz (or a manual level pick) sets the starting difficulty, and the adaptive engine then moves each activity up a notch after three correct answers in a row, or eases it down and reschedules it one to two days later after repeated misses.

Is LittleLearn free? Are there ads or in-app purchases?

Yes, LittleLearn is completely free with no ads, no trackers and no child-directed in-app purchases. There is no login for children and no account is required to play. The codebase is open source under the MIT licence and published at github.com/goshbuzz/Little-Learn, so anyone can audit exactly what the app does on-device.

Does LittleLearn work without internet?

Yes — LittleLearn is offline-first by design. On the web, a service worker caches the entire app after the first load; on Android (built with Capacitor) every activity, book and printable is bundled into the install, so there are zero network requests at runtime. All progress, timers and PDF printing run locally on the device.

How does LittleLearn protect my child’s eyes?

Eye protection is the default loop, not a bolt-on setting. A warm, dimmed blue-light filter is switched on at first launch; a 20-20-20 story break pauses play every 20 minutes so Leo the lion can ask children to look far away for 20 seconds; and a parent-adjustable daily cap (15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, default 30) ends the session gently with printable worksheets instead of autoplay.

What is the 20-20-20 rule and how does LittleLearn apply it?

The 20-20-20 rule says that every 20 minutes of screen use, look at something about 20 feet away for 20 seconds to relax the eye’s focusing muscle. LittleLearn automates it: every 20 minutes a friendly story overlay appears, Leo narrates “look at the far mountains”, and a 20-second breathing countdown runs. It is a story prompt, never a punishment or lockout.

How is my child’s progress stored? Is it private?

All progress is stored on the device in a single local storage key (littlelearn_v1) — profiles, mastery, stickers and session logs. Nothing is uploaded by default: cloud sync exists but is switched off, and there are no child accounts, no advertising IDs and no third-party analytics, which keeps the app COPPA-friendly.

How many activities does LittleLearn have?

LittleLearn ships 7,357 live activity instances generated deterministically by 20 procedural engines across 24 learning worlds, covering literacy (about 1,520 instances), thinking and logic (about 2,060), numeracy (about 1,440), nature (about 1,020), life skills (about 880) and creative arts (about 480). Because generation is deterministic, a mastered activity keeps the same ID and can be rescheduled for spaced-repetition review.

What are the 24 learning worlds in LittleLearn?

The 24 worlds are ABC Land, Count & Play, Animal Kingdom, Bird Buddies, Color Splash, Write with Me, Story Time, Rhyme Time, My Body & Senses, Weather & Seasons, Emotions Corner, Community Helpers, Music & Rhythm, Opposites, Shape Detective, Puzzle Path, Math Magic, Memory Match, Odd One Out, Sequence Builder, Ocean Friends, Space Quest, Farm Friends and City Builders — spanning literacy, numeracy, nature, thinking, life skills and creative arts.

Does LittleLearn show scores or rankings to children?

No. Children never see numeric scores, percentiles or comparisons. Internally the app tracks a skill map (literacy, numeracy, shapes, memory, logic, patterns, 0–100) for the parent dashboard, but on the child side progress appears only as stickers, leaves and a friendly progress trail — “more leaves means more practice”.

How does the parent dashboard work, and how is it protected?

The Parent Dashboard sits behind a parent gate: a simple addition question, or a two-second long-press. Inside, parents see time used today, modules touched, eye breaks taken, a weekly minutes chart, the skill-map leaves, child profiles and siblings, the printables centre and eye-care settings — all computed on-device from local session logs.

Can I limit my child’s daily screen time?

Yes. The daily cap defaults to 30 minutes and can be set to 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes per child profile. When the cap is reached, LittleLearn shows a calm “Great job today!” screen that suggests paper play and offers one-tap printing of the week’s worksheets — there is no infinite scroll and nothing autoplays into the next activity.

Can I print worksheets from LittleLearn?

Yes. The Printables Centre in Parent Mode generates A4 PDFs entirely on-device using jsPDF, with 24 templates (tracing, counting, colouring, matching and more) plus a weekly pack that exports as LittleLearn-Weekly-YYYY-MM-DD.pdf. Every sheet can carry a QR code that deep-links back to the same activity inside the app.

Is there an Android app, or is it only a website?

Both. LittleLearn runs as a responsive website and as an installable PWA on any modern browser, and the same codebase builds a native Android app through Capacitor (package com.littlelearn.kids) with all content bundled at install time for true offline use — no post-install downloads are required.

Which languages does LittleLearn support?

LittleLearn currently ships in English (locale en-PK by default, with the interface in English worldwide). All narration uses the device’s Web Speech API voice, and every screen has a voice-guided mode so pre-readers can play independently.

Is LittleLearn accessible for children who cannot read yet?

Yes. Every child profile has a navigation preference — icon-only, voice-guided, or combined — and all buttons, cards and story pages can be read aloud by Leo using on-device speech synthesis. Touch targets are 56–88 points, contrast stays high on the warm palette, and animations are kept under three seconds.

Who makes LittleLearn?

LittleLearn is made and published by goshbuzz (goshbuzz.com), an independent product studio based in Karachi, Pakistan. LittleLearn lives at littlelearn.goshbuzz.com as a goshbuzz.com property, and its source code is open at github.com/goshbuzz/Little-Learn under the MIT licence.

What is new in the latest LittleLearn version?

Version 1.6.0 (released 13 September 2026) added 890 activity variants for a total of 7,357 live instances, 4 new story books (24 total), 4 new printables (24 total), 2 new worlds — Farm Friends and City Builders (24 total) — plus 14 daily challenges, 14 achievements and a 10-day weekly learning plan, all still fully offline.

How do I get started with LittleLearn?

Open littlelearn.goshbuzz.com in any browser, or install it as an app from the browser menu. On first launch, create an explorer profile — pick an avatar, an age tier (3–4, 4–5 or 5–6) and optionally a placement quiz — and the Learning Path places your child at the right level in every world. Eye protection switches on automatically.

Still curious?

Read the eye-safety deep dive, the parent guide, browse the 24 learning worlds, or open the app — it works offline after the first load. LittleLearn is published by goshbuzz.com.
